On the morning of September 10, 2026, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), in collaboration with Asia Euro University (AEU), organized a workshop on “Career Perspectives in Accounting, Auditing and Tax” for approximately 200 students at Asia Euro University (AEU) in Phnom Penh. The event was presided over by Mrs. Savuth Daly, CEO of the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), and Mr. Sun Setha, Rector of Asia Euro University (AEU), along with representatives of KICPAA, guest speakers, the university’s management team, and lecturers. The workshop aimed to provide students with valuable knowledge and insights into career opportunities and the importance of developing professional competencies in the accounting, auditing, and tax sectors.

The workshop provided students with guidance and knowledge on career perspectives and employment opportunities in accounting, auditing, and tax, while encouraging them to establish clear academic and career plans and continuously develop their competencies in line with the evolving demands of the job market. This was followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session on “Careers in Accounting, Auditing and Tax”, featuring professional speakers Mr. Heng Kit Sophal, CEO of Advanced Grant Formula Co., Ltd. and Mrs. Fong Vathana, Founder of VSD Audit & Assurance Co., Ltd. The speakers shared their practical work experiences, insights into the skills and competencies required by employers, and guidance on how students can better prepare themselves for success in their careers.

As a result, the key knowledge that students gained from the workshop included:

• Understanding the Value and Job Market: Accounting, auditing, and tax skills offer a wide range of career opportunities and competitive salaries. These professions are at the heart of business operations, helping ensure legal and regulatory compliance and supporting effective decision-making in the efficient use of resources.
• Roles and Responsibilities: Students gained a better understanding of the differences between the roles and responsibilities of accountants and auditors.
• Importance of Internships: Internships serve as an important bridge between academic learning and the workplace by providing students with practical, hands-on experience and opportunities to learn and apply various technological tools that are continuously evolving.
• Experience and Keys to Success: Students gained valuable insights into personal and professional development, including the importance of understanding themselves, being open to learning new things, continuously developing their skills, and pursuing professional certifications such as the Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) to build a competitive advantage after graduation. They also learned the importance of having a clear plan for their future and career.

The event concluded at 11:05 a.m. on the same day in a friendly and engaging atmosphere, with active participation from students. It provided valuable knowledge, practical insights, and career perspectives to support students in planning their future careers and pursuing continuous professional development.
