Induction Course

On June 6, 2025, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) organized an Induction Course at the KICPAA Meeting Room for 12 new members in 2025. The purpose of this training is to introduce the understanding of the Institute, its membership, and obligations, the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) policy, Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) to members, and especially congratulations to the new members. As a result of this training, all the new members who participated were proud to be members of KICPAA and committed to participate in additional self-development on a regular basis with various training courses organized by KICPAA. The program ended with fruitfulness, joy, and networking.

KICPAA Joined Over 1,000 Runners to Promote Financial Literacy!

On 1 June 2025, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) proudly joined as one of the main organizers of the “Run for Financial Literacy” at Chroy Changvar Satellite City. The event was co-organized by FWD Cambodia, ACCA Cambodia, ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA), Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC), Chroy Changvar Satellite City, and was warmly supported by the public.

All the funds raised have been officially donated to the Association of Banks in Cambodia (ABC) to produce financial literacy videos that will help people across Cambodia learn how to manage money wisely.

140th AFA Council Meeting

On Saturday, 31 May 2025, as a member of the AFA Council and the host country, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) successfully hosted the 140th AFA Council Meeting.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Khun Darith, President of KICPAA; Mr. Nou Remy, Vice President of KICPAA; and Mrs. Savuth Daly, Executive Director of KICPAA.

The 140th AFA Council Meeting, convened annually, was chaired by Professor Dr. Doan Xuan Tien, President of the AFA Council; Mr. Ardan Adiperdana, Vice President of the AFA Council; and Mr. Eward Tanujaya, Executive Director of AFA, along with AFA Council Members. The meeting provided a strategic platform to discuss key priorities for the advancement and future direction of the accounting and auditing profession across the ASEAN region.

Established in 1977, the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) seeks to develop and promote the accountancy profession within ASEAN and to strengthen regional and international cooperation among its member bodies.

For the 2024–2027 strategic period, AFA is focused on the following priorities:

Advancing sustainability reporting

Driving digital transformation

Enhancing capacity building and professional development

Fostering regional collaboration

Monitoring the implementation of its strategic goals

Student Orientation on the β€œProviding scholarships for the Accounting Technical Qualification (ATQ) by ICAEW”

On May 20, 2025, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), in collaboration with the ACLEDA University of Business (AUB), conducted a student orientation on β€œProviding scholarships for the Accounting Technical Qualification (ATQ) by ICAEW” for approximately 23 students at the ACLEDA University of Business.

This session was held with the following objectives:

1.Β Inform students about the scholarship for the ATQ bridging program;

2.Β To highlight the importance of the scholarship;

3.Β To encourage students to apply for the scholarship and

4.Β To provide guidance and strategies for successful study and examination performance.

The orientation ended successfully on the same day, filled with active participation, camaraderie, and joyful sharing of experiences.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program on β€œChallenges in Bookkeeping”

The Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), with the support of the Business School of Accountancy, successfully hosted a webinar on β€œE-Invoicing – Lessons Learned from Malaysia” on the morning of Monday, 12 May 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The session was a part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and was led by our expert speaker, Dr. Veerinderjeet Singh, Senior Adviser on Tax Policy of KPMG Malaysia.

The webinar was successfully conducted, attracting significant interest and participation from 289 attendees.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program on β€œChallenges in Bookkeeping”

The Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) with the support of DFC Learning, successfully hosted a webinar on β€œChallenges in Bookkeeping” on the afternoon of Friday, 25 April 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The session was a part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and was led by our expert speaker, Mr. Daung Pisey, Associate Partner of Tax & Accounting at DFC.

The webinar was successfully conducted, attracting significant interest and participation from 542​ attendees.

 

Dissemination Workshop on β€œThe Cambodia CPA Program”

On the morning of Friday, April 25, 2025, Mr. KHUN Darith, President of Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), Mrs. SAVUTH Daly, Executive Director of KICPAA, and Mr. CHEA Thourn, Deputy Executive Director of KICPAA, attended the Dissemination Workshop on β€œThe Cambodia CPA Program” which was highly presided over by H.E. NGY Tayi, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and a member of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority, accompanied by H.E. BOU Tharin, Director General of the Accounting and Auditing Regulator, and Mrs. NEAN Bony, Deputy Director General of the ACAR. During the event, Mr. CHEA Thourn, as an honorary speaker, delivered a presentation on the β€œAccounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) Program” to students, educational institutions, employers, and public members for 350 at the Phnom Penh Hotel. The Dissemination Workshop aimed to:

1.Β Provide clearer awareness and understanding of the Cambodia CPA Program and

2.Β  developing the capabilities, ethics, technical, and professional skills of professional accountants in Cambodia.

This Dissemination Workshop ended at 11:48 AM on the same day with a fruitful and highly cooperative moment.

On the morning of Tuesday, 8 April 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, under the collaboration from Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) hosted a webinar on β€œCollective Investment Scheme and Investor Protection”, by honorary speakers Her Excellency Mrs. Thay Sokphalline, Director of Issuance Supervision Department and Mr. Na Peoupagnarith, Director of Legal Affairs Department. As a result, the webinar was successfully held with the interest of 242 participants.

Student Orientation on “The Learning and Taking of the Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) Exam”

On April 3, 2025, the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) and the Institute of Finance and Accounting (IFA) successfully conducted a Student Orientation on “The Learning and Taking of the Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) Exam” for students from both the morning and evening shifts for 66 students at IFA.

This orientation was highly beneficial for students in the following ways:

1. Understanding of the importance of accounting and the accounting profession

2. Understanding the Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) program and KICPAA app

3. Encouraging registration for ATQ exams

4. Tips on how to study and get good results in the ATQ exam.

The event ended on the same day with a fruitful and happy moment.

Workshop on β€œLevel up your accounting future”

On the morning of Saturday, March 22, 2025, Mrs. Savuth Daly, Executive Director of Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA), and Mr. Chea Thourn, Deputy Executive Director of KICPAA, attended a workshop on β€œLevel up your accounting future”. This event featured an enlightening presentation by Mr. Chea Thourn on β€œEnhancing Professional Excellence through the Accounting Technician Qualification”. This event was a great success, with approximately 40 students from the DFC Learning Centre participating. As a result, the seminar provided significant benefits to students, including:

– Developing professional accounting competencies

– Gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of accounting and the accounting profession

– Learning more about the Accounting Technician Qualification program

– Expanding knowledge of the accounting sector in Cambodia

Training of Trainer (TOT) on “Instruction on Teaching Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) program”

On Monday Morning, March 17, 2025, KICPAA has conducted a Training of Trainer (TOT) on “Instruction on Teaching Accounting Technician Qualification (ATQ) program” toΒ lecturers of DFC Learning Centre at the KICPAA’s meeting room. The purpose of this training is to increase the pass rate of students and to jointly develop new learning and teaching methods of the accounting and auditing profession.
